The Giant Undertow is the solo project of Lorenzo Mazzilli, a Venetian from the lowlands of Padua who moved to Bologna, also active in Johnny Clash project and The Procrastinators.
The misty landscapes of his songs are born from makeshift guitars and a dark, old-fashioned voice. The result is a deep desert folk sound, somewhere between stillness and impetuosity, with a nod to overseas singer-songwriters such as Johnny Cash, Lee Hazlewood, and Micah P. Hinson.
In 2016, he released the full-length album "THE WEAK" (Shyrec, In the bottle rec., Indipendead, PoPe V, Death roots syndicate), which allowed him to tour with his band and as a solo artist throughout Italy and in Switzerland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia, sharing the stage with King Dude, Legendary Shack Shackers, Cult of youth, and several other artists.
